Sacrament of Matrimony

Your wedding day will be here before you know it—and we’re here to help you prepare for the spiritual side of this important commitment. The process of getting married through St. Patrick Church can take up to six months, so it’s best to begin early.

We’re honored to walk with you as you enter into one of the Church’s most sacred vocations.

To be married through our parish, please complete the following steps:

• Schedule an initial meeting with the priest

• Provide your original birth certificate

• Submit Baptism and Confirmation certificates

• Attend a Pre-Cana weekend retreat

• Complete Natural Family Planning (NFP) classes

• Fill out and sign an Affidavit of Free Status

• Obtain a marriage license at least two weeks before the wedding

Important:

• All documents must be dated within six months of the wedding date.

• All paperwork must be submitted to the parish office at least 30 days before the wedding.

• Couples from outside the Diocese of Laredo must submit their completed marriage preparation packet to:
